Welcome Home Aleena Saron!!

We arrived back in the states May 5th with a beautiful little Ethiopian princess. She is a doll and fits right into our home...We are blessed to have her and love her so much!! God truly puts the right child into the right homes!!

Our trip was aw some and a such a blessing Paul and I stayed 9 days and enjoyed the different things in Addis Abeba. We went to Saron's orphanage about a 2 hour drive out of the city of Addis. It was a crazy drive!! But a great blessing...she was born in the town of Wenji. We also met her birth father Ermias and talk with him.

I will post more later...pictures, well we have a lot of but I am having a hard time downloading do to dial-up computer!! VERY aggravated right now about that!!

Just wanted to update everyone!!

Happy Easter 2009

This Easter has been so special. The girls have been so open to talk and read the bible about Jesus and how he came to earth and died on the cross...alot of reflection and thankfulness!! Praise God for His plan and His son Jesus Christ!!

We are so blessed...12 days till we leave to get Saron...Paul and I are so excited to be finally here to this point in this adoption...the girls, they are over the moon excited but I don't think it is quite real yet to them??

Paul and I have done some reflection over the last few days. God's timing is everything, His will is perfect and if you are in it, he will supply all your needs!!

Have a Happy Easter...and remember Jesus's eternal LOVE for us...Without HIM All HOPE would be LOST...We would be LOST!!

The Prayers of a Momma

Every moment I think of our little Aleena...lately I have been thinking of her almost every half of a moment:) This last weekend I was praying and it hit me; Two weeks till our little Aleena is hopefully ours!! 4 weeks till we travel...praise the Lord!!

I took a breath and realized it was 2 years ago this spring that we started again praying for the opportunity to adopt...2 years ago this spring Aleena was born in a little mud hut...God knew that this little girl was going to need us...I realized this weekend that this little girl needs her momma now...she is tired of waiting just like I am...she needs me to hold her and love her and tell her that I am her momma...that everything is okay now.

Lord, Aleena needs a momma...I need my Aleena girl. Please let court pass so we can go and get her and so she can have her forever family:) Your will be done!!

10 days or 2 weeks...if you are reading this post please keep April 6th in your prayers!!:) Thank you!!

29 MORE DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wish I could shout this to EVERYONE !! But now the real count-down starts!! I was just laying in bed this morning thinking...next week we can say it's 3 weeks.

It is getting very exciting around our house...the girls are starting to really get anxious and so are Paul and I. We have a very busy month ahead of us!! So time will fly. I was telling someone the other it will be almost 18 months since we have started...we could almost say two years because Aleena was in our hearts along time before we started!! Now we can almost see the end...and I can soon hold my baby girl!!

We will be ready to start a new chapter in our life and we are already planning fun things to do this summer (including remodeling our kitchen and a family vacation!!)

God is so good...and we give Him all the glory and praise...for the good and the bad...He will take care of us!! Bless His name!!:)

5 Weeks to Go!! Yeah!!

It is so nice to finally say that next month is court!! I am now starting to make lists of what I need to take to Ethiopia, I am a planner, so that means I plan everything out, if it doesn't work out I scratch that idea and plan again:) Kinda weird I know but that is how I am.

Anna loves kindergarten and I am excited for her, she is reading well and loves to ride the bus with sissy...if I could down load pictures I have a few of her first day getting off the bus and the second day waiting at the door anxiously for the bus!!

Abigayle just finished her 56 page Missouri note book!! WOW what is this college??? But we all had fun doing it and learning about Missouri's history and animals. Abigayle's class has one project after another until school gets out!!

I have been sick...sinus infection into pneumonia...not fun...but I am on the mend and getting my strength back...God is good and he takes care of us everyday!!

Paul is sooo good to me he is such a blessing a wonderful husband and father...I am truly blessed!!
Last week Paul was one of the guest speakers in Kansas City at a workshop, he talked about school shootings...he had such a good time...man that is a tough subject to speak on and a big eye opener!!

Aleena is doing well, we are ready to go, but we know that it is in God's timing. I am getting so excited about our trip and about being a momma again. The girls are very happy to about being big sisters although they are getting pretty anxious about the trip...I think missing us already!!

Well, here is a quick update...courts almost here!!!

This is a BIG day for MOMMY!!

For those who know me homeschooling was something I wanted to do...because it was "right"?????????
Okay, anyway so far I bombed on Abigayle...she wanted to go into 3rd grade last year(she is have the time of her life all A's and B's)...and than I thought, okay Anna and I will have a great year doing kindergarten...well so far we have but, she has gotten in her little sweet head that school looks alot more fun than home!! HAHA
And yes, you guessed it...she is headed to Mrs. Mallory's kindergarten class today...new backpack, and new school supplies and ect. She has been soooo excited, she told me "now I can be a big girl."

I am nervous but happy for her...she has to go sometime...and I do pray and try to instill it in them to make good choices...Anna's class is small about 12 that is not so bad!!

Two New Updates on Aleena

Here is some new information: Aleena is beautiful (of course I know that) but Jerry said she is pretty, pretty!! Beautiful eyes!! She is wear around 24month- 2t. and size 5 in shoes.

She has a very laid back personality and they kept raving on how fun she was!! I was told she is not potty trained which will be fine...something to do with her!!

I Needed the Encouragement and God Gave Me This...

I AM WITH YOU AND FOR YOU. When you decide on a course of action that is in line with My will, nothing in heaven or on earth can stop you. You may encounter many obstacles as you move toward your goal, but don't be discouraged - never give up! With my help, you can overcome any obstacle. Do not expect an easy path as you journey hand in hand with Me, but do remember that I, your very-present Helper, am omnipotent.
Much, much stress results from your wanting to make things happen before their times have come. One of the main ways I assert My sovereignty is in the timing of events. If you want to stay close to Me and do things My way, ask Me to show you the path forward moment by moment. Instead of dashing headlong toward your goal, let Me set the pace. Slow down, and enjoy the journey in My Presence.

Double Digits...

In a couple of weeks my oldest daughter Abigayle will be 10. I can't believe this!! I know people have said "they grow up so quickly," you don't believe it till it happens to you!! I am proud of Abigayle...she is smart, caring, kind, organized, and loves the Lord. We have our moments...but I still love her with all my heart.
She got a new bike 21 speed!! She is so proud of that bike. I think it is her first "new" bike...the "thrifty" person I am have always bought her bikes at garage sales...so this one is awesome!!

Anyway, I just wanted to take a moment and thank the Lord for my little girl who will be 10 February 1st!!

The moment I saw you my dear, I new you were mine...the moment I touched you my dear, I new that God had given me a little girl that is sooo special...

Merry Christmas Ethiopia!!

Today is Christmas in Ethiopia...Merry Christmas Aleena and everyone at the HOH!!

Our Christmas tradition started this year, even though Aleena is not with us yet. We left our Nativity up in the living room (this is a very nice resin Nativity that I got at an auction over the summer). Sunday we will go to the Blue Nile Restaurant in KC. And have a Christmas celebration with other families that have adopted from Ethiopia or that have moved from Ethiopia, we are very excited. And plan on keeping this as a tradition year after year!!
